We’re creating an intimate and unique open-concept studio space Downtown Kitchener. One of our main focuses for the space is to provide local artists a low-commitment, financially accessible space to host workshops in their medium. We’ve been working with a number of local creatives and have an incredible winter workshop line up to share with you (so very soon!)

The intention for the space at Studio 27 has always been primarily about creating and celebrating local artists’ work. The space is outfitted with professional gallery lighting, hanging track, audio systems and shelving space to host various artists’ works at any given time. A café & bar on site provides artists a unique opportunity to show (and hopefully sell!) their works to guests of the space throughout the day.

We try and make it as simple and commitment-free as possible to utilize the space- there are no upfront fees, below industry standard commission rates, and invoicing (all payments processed by us!) paid out at the end of each month. While the Studio will be busy with workshops and Open Studio artists most days, we’re also eager to host launch parties, readings, gallery showing events, and whatever else you can think of. We want artists and to have a have a space to come together to do their thing!

The studio will be made accessible to artists with an Open Studio membership to work on their on-going projects during all open hours. Accounting for the workshop schedule, there will be about 8-12 hours of Open Studio time available for members daily. There are a limited number of spaces available for Open Studio memberships so that we can prioritize having ample space and safe storage for members.

Our on site café and bar will offer one of the earliest cups of coffee Downtown Kitchener alongside different treats sourced from various local makers. In the afternoon and evening, we’re licensed to serve beverages so you’ll be able to sip on something delicious and hang out on our covered patio (inside where the magic is happening!)

Being licensed under one roof with the studio and café space provides a unique opportunity to host tastings, product launches, or cocktail events. We can help you find catering options at a variety of scales.
